Body Builders Automotive is a family-owned and operated auto body repair shop that has been providing quality service to the Northwest Chicago Suburbs for over 40 years. Founded by brothers Michael and Patrick Phillippi in 1978, they started their business with a small garage, learning everything they could about the collision repair industry as they worked hard to provide customers with excellent results.
In order to keep up with their growing demand, the brothers moved Body Builders Automotive (or “BBA”) to Rolling Meadows, where they have remained deeply involved in the local community ever since. Today, BBA’s team of highly trained professionals are equipped to handle any intricate repairs that come their way. With technicians certified at I-CAR Gold level–the highest designation any body shop can obtain–BBA treats every car like it’s one of their own.
In recent years, BBA became a true second-generation business when General Manager, Joseph Phillippi (Michael’s eldest son) assumed ownership of the shop as a driven and experienced leader. Additionally, in the tradition of America’s multi-cultural fabric of family and community, long-time employee of BBA, Maria Quintero, joined Joseph as partner to guide BBA toward a bright future. Maria began her career at BBA over 20 years ago without any knowledge of the industry she continues to grow herself and her team.

Had the rear bumper on my Honda Odyssey replaced here and the job was excellent. It’s hard to tell anything ever happened — the car looks like new again. Customer service was exceptional, very friendly, and they kept me updated on all the developments. The work was also done quickly. Great place, highly recommend!
Extremely customer oriented; they treat your car as if it is their own. Extremely professional; they handle all aspects of your repairs including insurance issues, ensuring you are worry free. The owners are honest, respectful, trustworthy, helpful and they take the time to answer any questions or concerns you may have. It is a very busy shop because their work is impeccable and everybody loves them. Their rapport and personalities makes you want to hang out there, work there, become friends with them. After this experience I really don’t want to take my precious car anywhere else. It’s a salon for your car! I wish they had a service department. Oh yes and they offer refreshments, candy and a comfortable seat if you rarely have to wait!
I solicited three (3) estimates for the work. Body Builders was not the cheapest. However, I chose them based on my past experiences. They did not disappoint.
They kept me informed throughout the repair process. When they ran into an unexpected issue, they immediately contacted me to let me know the impact. When I picked up the vehicle it looked like it was ready for a showroom floor.
I would definitely use Body Builders Automotive again in the future if the need arises.
