Body Builders Automotive has a simple repair process that ensures your vehicle is thoroughly inspected, correctly repaired, and returned by the most qualified industry-certified technicians you’ll ever see. Whether it’s a small fender-bender or something more serious, the experts at Body Builders Automotive are here to get you back behind your steering wheel as fast as we possibly can.
At Body Builders Automotive, we work closely with all the big names in the world of insurance and we’re proud to say that we are an ASE and I-CAR Certified collision repair facility. We truly believe in the quality of our work and that’s why every repair is backed by a written lifetime warranty for as long as you own the vehicle.
1. CONSULTATION APPOINTMENT
If you have already received an estimate from your insurance, we can use this as a starting point. Consult on parts availability, timeline of the repair, submit any photos to insurance for them to generate their own estimate.
2. INSURANCE APPROVAL
If BBA wrote an estimate, insurance needs to approve it in order to proceed with scheduling.
Some insurance companies require their own preliminary estimate from insurance in order to get scheduled in for repairs.
If customer is paying out of pocket, BBA needs approval to ensure amount is agreed upon before scheduling the repair appointment.
3. SCHEDULE FOR REPAIRS
Once we have received approval from either the insurance or customer, we will go ahead and set up an appointment with the next availability for the repair. This can all depend on the type of damage (small, medium, or extensive)
4. DROP OFF/CHECK IN
Retrieve Authorization forms
Pre-wash the vehicle and review the damage again along with any prior damage.
Address any concerns on same panel damage or unrelated prior damage that can be taken care of while repairs are being completed.
5. TRIAGE/ SCAN/ DISASSEMBLY
Research OEM procedures and complete a full health scan on the vehicle to ensure
Assign vehicle to a technician and remove all damaged parts to identify all damaged areas requiring repair or replacement
6. SUPPLEMENT APPROVAL AFTER DISASSEMBLY
Once the vehicle is fully disassembled, we submit any additional damage found with photos and OEM procedures to have insurance approved for the remainder of the repair.
Approval can take anywhere from 5-7 business days depending on ins.
7. PARTS PROCUREMENT
Parts are ordered per the vin.
Vehicle on HOLD until all parts are received for accuracy and that is when tentative completion date is given.
8. BODY AND MECHANICAL REPAIR
Measurement and frame repairs occur during this process
Repairs performed to sheet metal, aluminum, or plastic panels per the OEM repair procedures. - Inspect the vehicle once repairs are complete.
9. REFINISH PROCESS
Prep the panels for paint: sand, scuff, and rinse dry.
Prime any repaired panels that must sit for up to 24 hours
Paint any repaired panels or blending panels with sealer, base coat and clear coat. Evey coat requires to be baked at a certain temperature in the spray booth.
10. RE-ASSEMBLY AND QUALITY CONTROL
Vehicle is reassembled and the last touches are completed.
Car is test driven and another quality inspection occurs to ensure repairs are fully complete.
11. POST SCAN CALIBRATIONS/ OFFSITE SUBLET
Calibrations ensure that cameras, radars, and sensors are aimed properly for functionality. - Some calibrations can happen in house but other do need to go to the dealer so there may be a waiting period. - Paint protection film, vinyl wrap, window tint, etc have to be done offsite.
12. FINAL INSURANCE APPROVAL
During this process we will submit any additional documents needed or if we were waiting on any calibration/off site invoices they are submitted for approval. Approval may take anywhere from 3-7 business days.
13. WASH/ PICK UP APPOINTMENT

2. Vehicle Drop Off

3. Get Rental Car
Accidents are not fun, and renting a car is yet another annoying and sometimes confusing detail to deal with. Simply let us know that you’ll need a rental while your car is being repaired and we’ll reserve one for you without hesitation. That way, all you need to worry about is moving your stuff from one vehicle to another, before jumping into a safe and clean rental that you can count on.
4. Detailed Estimate
Body Builders Automotive has earned acclaim by consistently going the extra mile for our clients. As such, each and every car receives a comprehensive inspection upon arrival – where every scratch, dent or ding is painstakingly recorded and documented. We then take this information to create a free estimate, in which all of the related damage is listed in detail. Then we discuss the estimate with you, step-by-step and line-by-line, and work with your insurance company for the best deal on your repair.
5. Repair and Paint
After your vehicle is evaluated and we’ve obtained the needed insurance approvals, we restore your car back to its pre-accident condition. As part of our commitment to you, Body Builders Automotive is ASE and I-CAR certified, providing the highest-quality repairs and using Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) parts whenever possible.
6. Full Detailing
Every car that undergoes repair work at Body Builders Automotive is washed and vacuumed, free of charge. We believe in going above and beyond for our clients, and your first ride in your like-new vehicle should be a memorable one.
7. Vehicle Pickup
Once we’ve completed the repair, our Body Builders Automotive team will contact you and set up a time for the final inspection and the subsequent paperwork. Your service advisor will review the vehicle and repairs before completing the documentation and handing over the keys.
At this time, your service advisor will walk you through our written lifetime warranty on all repairs, so that you can get that peace of mind that everyone covets.
